美元在跌至一个月低位后开始企稳。隔夜公布的美国7月零售销售反弹支持美联储在9月加息，则扶助美元企稳。人民币兑美元即期周四跌势趋缓，小跌0.20%，收报6.4000，显示出企稳迹象，自周二以来已经下跌3%，中国央行周四在记者招待会表示，人民币在波动后可回归常态，此前偏差校正已基本完成。随着人民币跌势趋缓，市场对美联储推迟加息忧虑暂缓。美国原油期货周四大跌逾3%，盘中一度触及六年半低点41.91美元/桶，美国关键库存大幅增加，令市场对全球供应过剩日益严重的忧虑加重。
