7日，美国总统大选尘埃落定，贝拉克·奥巴马成功连任。此前就有黄金分析师表示，奥巴马如果能够连任将有助于金价的上涨。当日凌晨，奥巴马在关键几个州的领先优势使得未来胜选的可能性大大增加，刺激黄金和白银等大幅上涨走高，其中黄金最高触及1720.72美元/盎司(约合348.96元/克)一线，成功站上1700美元重要关口。国际金价大幅走高的积极情绪“传染”到了国内黄金市场，当天收盘的期现货金银均以近来少有的暴涨收盘。
