国际货币基金组织(IMF)警告称，若美国自动减支生效，将可能下调美国及全球经济增长预期。IMF发言人William Murray称，若自动减支完全实施，IMF可能会将美国经济成长预估值下调至少0.5个百分点，IMF目前预计今年美国经济将扩张2%。丹麦盛宝银行(Saxo Bank)技术分析师Kim Cramer Larsson预计，黄金价格将测试新低，此前抛售导致黄金价格脱离下跌趋势，但是相对强弱指标并没有产生分歧。实际上，相对强弱指标在2012年10月份的时候就已经显示黄金将走弱。
