8月16日凌晨美联储理事兼圣路易斯联储主席布拉德在讲话中指出，美联储应该在得到更多证据显示就业状况已全面好转且通胀水平也开始走高的背景下才考虑缩减当前的量化宽松措施规模。应当在2013年下半年剩余的时间里，对美国更多的宏观经济数据表现加以密切关注，然后再在是否要缩减QE规模这一问题上作出定夺。他的这番说辞与上周的基本雷同。同时他还强调，美联储主席应该考虑在每一次政策会议之后都召开新闻发布会，而不是再像现在这样，每个季度举行一次新闻发布会。
