炒黄金的仓息，从字面上理解就是黄金投资交易所需支付的仓位利息，现时国内外都有不同的黄金投资交易品种，而针对各种黄金投资产品的不同，其需要的仓位利息费用都是不同的。
现时国内外黄金市场的投资产品包括黄金期货和现货、纸黄金品种，黄金定投等，而需要计算黄金仓位利息的，只限于即日进行保证金交易的黄金投资产品，例如现货黄金，像纸黄金、实物投资金条是不需要向银行或贵金属投资机构所设的交易平台支付仓位利息的，黄金定投则是银行向投资者支付利息。
所以，炒黄金仓息是杠杆式保证金双向交易的黄金投资产品才拥有的一种手续费，且仓位利息只是对现货交易而言的，期货交易的话，在客户持有黄金合约在远期合约满期以后，则自动平掉仓位，所以也是不包含黄金仓位利息。
为什么会有现货黄金仓位利息？
因为现货黄金采用即时交易制度，就是投资者即日做单和结算的意思，要是即日内的炒金交易单没有平仓，隔日处理的话，就会产生炒黄金仓息，这可以称作交易平台代客户保管交易头寸所收取一种费用。
在大田环球贵金属，现货黄金仓息的收取办法是，买入现货黄金的仓息利率百分比是1.5%，卖出现货黄金的仓息也是1.5%，
仓息的计算方法为：
前一天交易价位*合约单位*买卖手数*当天仓息利率百分比*过夜天数/360
下面举例子说明，
客户9月10日在大田环球贵金属建立一手现货黄金多单，买入点位为1252美元/盎司，当天夜间并未对该单进行买入平仓处理，在9月11日当天把该伦敦金多单平仓，则该现货黄金交易单需支付给大田环球贵金属交易平台的仓息为
1252（交易价位）*100（盎司）*1（手）*1.5%（利率百分比）*1（过夜天数）/360
=5.217美元。
