（一）从形态方面：
长期形态比短期形态更重要，短期的走势是在相对较小的区间中运动的，也容易受到各种各样因素的影响而随时变化。所以，投资者把握汇价的短期走势难度较大，容易陷入繁多的影响因素中而迷失方向。如果在分析短期汇价走势前对长期的走势有一个透彻的认识，做到胸有成竹，那么投资者就可以俯瞰短期走势，抓住主要矛盾，做出正确的分析判断。
（二）从位置方面：
位置比形态更重要 深入研究技术分析会发现，技术分析有无法的法则。但如果这些法则不结合位置形态来分析，那么这些法则就都成了空中楼阁，没有任何的意义。 如“头肩底”形态是一个非常经典的底部反转形态，它通常出现在汇价的底部区域，但如果在汇价的高价区出现一个“头肩底”形态，那么成熟的投资者宁可退出市场观望，也决不会相信此形态。 因为“在高位最可能出现头部，在低部最可能出现底部”是最朴素也是最有效的投资规律。
（三）从市场方面：
市场方向比位置更重要 “汇价的高低不重要，汇价的趋势才是最重要的”。 也许汇价已经达到很高或很低的区域，但只要投资者能够准确判断汇价的趋势，就仍然可以买进或者持有。投资者要分析的最重要的，最难的就是分析市场的走势方向。
