一、空单
所谓的空单不是空仓的意思，而是做空，就是常说的买跌，做空的单子就叫空单。
二、建仓
建仓也叫开仓，是指投资者在判断黄金走势后建立“买入”或“卖出”的订单。
三、空单建仓
空单建仓就是说投资者在判定黄金价格后市下跌的情况下做空单，即建立“卖出”订单。
四、设置空单建仓的时机
1、消息面利空
影响黄金的价格的基本面消息有很多，如美国的经济、美元的走势、地缘政治等等，当这些消息表现出不利于黄金的时候，黄金的价格就会承压下跌，此时就是黄金做空的时机之一。利空黄金的消息常见的有：美元走强、美国经济稳健发展、全球政局稳定、黄金供求量增加、原油价格下跌等。
2、技术指标形态
技术指标作为投资者分析黄金价格走势的工具，对研判黄金价格趋势的准确性是比较高的，当技术指标出现明显利空黄金的信号时，黄金价格一般会下跌。技术指标常见的利空黄金信号有：MA出现空头排列或价压；BOLL开口向下；KD或KDJ出现死叉；KD或MACD出现顶背离等。一旦技术指标利空信号明显，就是投资者做空的时机
3、反弹行情结束
行情反弹结束也是投资者做空较好的时机，当黄金价格运行到一定的低位时，价格一般会出现反弹，而一般反弹到一定高度又会承压下跌，会使黄金价格反弹受压的点位一般有均线；布林上轨；盘整行情上方的阻力线；近期内的价格高位等。
4、下破支撑线
当黄金价格下破下方支撑时一般都会出现明显的下跌行情，而且如果突破的是较强的支撑利润会比较大。一般能够作为下方支撑的有：均线；BOLL下轨、中轨；盘整行情下方的支撑线；黄金分割线；近期内的价格低位等。
