伦敦黄金市场产品种类丰富，包括黄金实物、黄金租赁、即期、远期、延期、掉期、期权及彼此之间的各种组合及变种。上海黄金交易所主要有实物和延期两个品种。单单从产品种类的数量上讲，我们处于伦敦市场1919年的阶段。很显然，伦敦100年前的水准无论从哪个角度来说，都无法满足中国市场今天的需求。与统购统配相比，我们前进了一大步，与满足中国人民对黄金的市场需求相比，我们才刚起步。伦敦黄金市场的实物黄金交易占整体交易量较少，根据LBMA的统计，近年来实物交割在全年交易量的5%左右。这也反映了伦敦市场为满足各种市场需求而创造的多品种黄金产品的优势。
