1、只回购自己卖的金条
一般，银行在办理回购时，只认自己银行发售的金条，至于投资者在商场、黄金商铺等其他非银行渠道购买的黄金，则一律不回购。
即使是本行发售的金条，也有回购品种的限制。比如，工行只回购本行发行的“如意金条”，而连同一系列的“如意金币”却不在回购之列；农行则只回购“传世之宝”系列黄金，而代销的虎头金条等却不回购。
即便是开展了黄金回购业务的银行，部分银行能办理黄金回购业务的网点数量极少，在北京地区，工行和交行仅有1家网点能办理；建行和深发展只有3家；中行有5家；民生银行42家；农行有91家。
将黄金变现，价格很重要，不同银行对回购价格的规定不同。比如，工行规定，黄金回购价每天变动两次，上午以上海黄金交易所AU99.99规格黄金的开盘价为基准下浮3元，下午以金交所下午第一笔成交价为基准下浮3元；民生银行回购价是在金交所实时报价的基础上减去2元；中行、农行、建行、交行、深发展则依据当时银行报价。
业内人士提醒投资者，在银行办理黄金回购业务时，必须携带个人有效身份证件的原件，还要带齐当初的购买单据、发票等资料；销售凭证上的编号必须与要办理回购的金条编号一致；实物黄金的包装应当完好，黄金不能有划痕或破损等，如黄金上出现破损，将不能变现。
不提取才回购
投资者购买了投资金条之后也可以不提取，将其保存在银行内。代保管期间，投资者可以选择逢高卖出，获得收益。它和纸黄金的区别是，投资者确实持有黄金，并且随时可以提取出来。代保管黄金一旦提取，有的银行就不再提供回购的服务。比如，中信银行、光大银行、浦发银行、兴业银行等。
另外，光大银行规定，可以代替黄金持有人，将保管在银行里的金条，通过上海黄金交易所买卖，交易手续费为交易额的0.155%。中信银行规定，保管在银行的黄金卖出，交易手续费为交易额的0.145%，浦发银行规定，代保管的黄金卖出，交易手续费为合约市值的0.195%。
