比方說，張先生1年前買了一套房子，價格是100萬，但現在房價上漲，價格變成了150萬。從名義上看，張先生這套房子賺了50萬，但只要張先生還沒有把房子賣出去，那麼這50萬就算是沒有真正的賺到手，因為保不准哪天房價就會跌。
延伸到黃金投資上來，陳小姐有一張訂單，且該訂單處於盈利狀態，但如果不平倉，那麼這張單子的盈利知識一串數字，還不算是真正意義上的錢，只有對該訂單進行了獲利結算，也就是平倉，平倉之後顯示的盈利，就轉變成陳小姐賬戶上的錢。
買賣指令下方，因為平倉指令，此前買入的單子，平倉時以賣出價成交，此前賣出的單子，平倉時以買入價成交。
