一、消息面分析
在明显的上涨行情中，遇到重要经济数据实际表现得不尽人意时，就很容易引起黄金多头向空头的转变，如美国非农就业数据，在黄金稳步攀升的行情下，若公布的非农就业数据表现乐观，黄金市场走势一般都会大幅度的滑落。因此，在公布非农数据前，除了已经能够保本的持仓（如追踪止损仓位），基本上投资者都会先平仓出场。
除了非农数据，其他对黄金有重大影响的基本面信息投资者也要关注。如美元、欧元、石油价格、黄金的供需、地缘政治的稳定等。
二、技术面阻力分析
在没有特别基本面消息可以影响黄金价格时，盘面上的技术指标有时候也会成为黄金价格上涨的阻力，一旦金价触碰到该阻力而不能突破时，金价就会承压下跌。如BOLL上轨阻力。
