空单是指投资者看好黄金价格会下跌，从而作出卖出头寸的选择，套取的是金价自高位下行至低位从而产生的差价作为盈利。空单可以理解成，投资者卖出黄金交易头寸。
3、多单和空单的实质
从上述的定义可得，多单和空单其实指的就是买入和卖出的双向操作，我们把黄金作为一种获取额外投资收益的理财品种，不可能无限持有，但它也是家庭投资理财品种中不可或缺保值产品，具有分散投资风险功能，因此我们可以利用黄金投资的双向交易性质，把握好每一次黄金投资的获利机会。
4、能操作多单和空单的黄金投资品种
所有黄金投资品种都能操作多单和空单，唯一不同的是，部分品种只能在拥有多单的情况下，才能执行空单对冲平仓，这样的品种有实物投资金条、纸黄金，产品特征为全额交易，因此投资者只能在买入黄金实物或计价虚拟黄金以后，才能实现卖出。其他品种均能实现双向交易，如现货黄金、黄金期货期权，产品特征为保证金交易，投资者仅需投入相比现货市价较小比例的资金即可交易，因此利用资金杠杆手段，在没有买入现货的情况下也能实现卖出。

R先生日内在大田环球贵金属买入一手伦敦金，买入价为1202.6美元/盎司，日内把这手伦敦金在1208美元/盎司对冲平仓以后，在1208执行限价卖单，入市价1210美元/盎司，目标为1204美元/盎司，止损位1214美元/盎司，
多单：于1202.6美元/盎司买入；空单于1204美元/盎司对冲买入获利平仓、空单于1214美元/盎司对冲买入止损平仓
空单：多单于1208美元/盎司对冲卖出获利平仓；入市价为1210美元/盎司自动执行限价卖出。
