英国国家统计局公布，第二季国内生产总值(GDP)初值较前季增长0.8%，较上年同期增长3.1%，符合路透调查预估。这将意味着GDP将终于回到2008年第一季水平的上方。当时全球银行业问题迅速演变为重创全世界经济的危机。服务业产出较前季增长1.0%，不但高于前季的增长0.8%，更是创下2012年第三季以来最高。不过第二季工业生产仅较前季增长0.4%，低于第一季增幅0.7%。
