澳洲总理表示，20国集团(G20)成员国并没有为实现经济成长目标颁布必要的政策，这让人对G20今年稍早提出的雄心勃勃的发展目标产生了新的疑虑。他在20国集团商务领袖)会议上表示，如果不采取更强有力的措施，G20成员国就不可能实现未来五年整体GDP再成长2%的目标，弄不好只能达到目标的一半。作为今年G20的轮值主席国，澳洲希望精简关注目标，以应对有关该组织说得多、做得少的指责。澳洲预计将把精力放在提高基建支出和增强财政纪律等措施上，以达到增长目标。
