据路透马德里报道，英国的巴克莱银行正探询有意买主，打算出售其西班牙零售银行；并补充称西班牙当地同业和私募股权投资公司可能对这部分业务有兴趣。
两名熟悉过程的银行消息来源表示，巴克莱正拿着西班牙部门的初步资讯和保密协议与可能有意竞购者接触；不过还未展开任何正式的竞购程序。
巴克莱所接触的对象可能包括西班牙主要银行业者桑坦德银行、西班牙对外银行和Caixabank。另两名消息人士则说，较小型的Bankinter或许也想从巴克莱手中接手私人银行业务。
