美国2月份预算赤字缩小，财政部13日公布，2月(2014财政年度第5个月)结算赤字1,935.32亿美元，低于去年同期的2,035.39亿美元，与MarketWatch调访预估的2,040亿美元。当期税收年增18%至1,443.49亿美元，显示政府财务状况改善；支出年增3.5%至3,378.8亿美元。累计2014财政年度前5个月，预算赤字下降至3,373.79亿美元，较去年同期减少24%，或约1,170亿美元。
美国预算赤字成长逐渐获得控制，据国会预算办公室预估，2014预算年度赤字将自2013年的6,800亿美元降至5,140亿美元，约是全年GDP的3%。
