美国商务部3月7日公布，2014年1月份出口额月增12亿美元至1,925亿美元，进口额月增13亿美元至2,316亿美元；贸易逆差较前月修正后的390亿美元略增至391亿美元，经济学家的预估值为390亿美元。与去年同期相比，出口年增3%或57亿美元，进口年增1.2%或26亿美元，贸易逆差则减少30亿美元。数据显示，1月份商品出口部分，工业原料与补给品月增12亿美元，资本财商品月增4亿美元，消费性商品月增2亿美元；粮食、饲料与饮品月减8亿美元，汽车、车用零件与引擎等月减2亿美元，其他商品月减3亿美元。商品进口部分，工业原料与补给品月增37亿美元，资本财月增3亿美元，粮食、饲料与饮品月增2亿美元；汽车、车用零件与引擎月减14亿美元，消费性商品月减10亿美元，其他商品月减1亿美元。
美国1月份贸易收支对全球各国出现顺差主要有，香港（39亿美元）、澳洲（14亿美元）、新加坡（16亿美元）与巴西（12亿美元）等。贸易出现逆差的国家包括，中国大陆（当月是278亿美元，前月是245亿美元）、欧盟国家（当月是88亿美元，前月是113亿美元）、OPEC国家（从前月的40亿美元增加至70亿美元）、德国（52亿美元）、日本（53亿美元）、墨西哥（28亿美元）、沙特阿拉伯（39亿美元）、南韩（19亿美元）、爱尔兰（17亿美元）、印度（21亿美元）、加拿大（41亿美元）、委内瑞拉（23亿美元）。
