美国市场周一（2月17日）因「总统日」假期休市一天。纽约商业交易所（NYMEX）3月原油期货电子盘最新报价上涨0.62美元或0.6%成为每桶100.92美元，欧洲ICE期货交易所（ICE Futures Europe）3月布兰特原油2月17日上涨0.1美元或0.1%成为每桶109.18美元，主要因为供应情势再度紧张的影响。
法新社2月16日报导，叙利亚石油和矿产资源部长苏莱曼•阿巴斯称，自2011年叙利亚国内冲突爆发以来，该国石油开采量减少了96%。阿巴斯提到，如今叙利亚大部分石油开采地均处于反对派的控制中。
阿巴斯称，叙利亚目前每天的原油开采量为1.4万桶，而在国内冲突爆发前，每天开采量为38.5万桶。他认为，造成现在叙利亚石油产业惨淡局面的原因包括恐怖分子的袭击、西方国家的制裁以及外国公司停止其在叙利亚的业务。
挪威石油理事会（NPD）2月14日公布，2013年1月，挪威原油日产量年增5.7%至156.8万桶，此也高于前月154.3万桶的日产量。NPD表示，尽管有多处的海上油田遭遇生产问题，但是在新油田投产的带动下，挪威原油产量仍取得增长，并称此产量较NPD预估的当月产量高出2%。
NPD预测委员Jan Bygdevoll指出，借助新油田的开发与投产，未来几年原油产量将逐渐恢复。尽管如此，NPD将今年原油日产量的预估由152万桶下调至146.3万桶，此将略低于2013年的146.4万桶。挪威原油产量在高峰时期一度超过日均300万桶，但随着油田逐渐枯竭，近年产量稳定下滑。1月份，挪威天然气凝析油的产量则是较去年同期的39.2万桶减少3%至每日37.9万桶，但高于前月37.3万桶的日均产量。
全球第三大油田服务公司贝克休斯（Baker Hughes Inc.）（BHI.US）公布，截至2月14日，美国石油与天然气探勘井数量较前周减少7座至1,764座，较去年同期增加2座，石油与天然气探勘井分别年增86座与年减84座。上周，NYMEX原油期货上涨0.4%，天然气期货大涨9.2%。贝克休斯统计的探勘井是指为开发以及探勘新油气储藏所设的钻井（钻机）数量，该公司表示，探勘井的数量与趋势受到石油公司探勘支出的左右，而探勘支出则主要受石油与天然气价格所影响。
