根据日本经济产业省12日公布的经济数据显示，2013年12月份日本经季节因素调整后的第3级产业活动指数较前月下滑0.4%至99.8，为3个月来第2度呈现下滑。另外，当月未经季节因素调整的第3级产业活动指数为年增0.9%至106.2，连续第10个月呈现上扬。
就业种别来看，当月表现下滑的行业为：批发零售业(月减1.2%)、运输业/邮寄业(1.2%)、金融业/保险业(0.7%)、不动产业/物品租赁业(0.4%)、生活相关服务业/娱乐业(0.6%)、餐饮住宿服务业(0.3%)、学习支持业(1.0%)和水电瓦斯等公共事业(0.2%)
当月表现上扬的行业为：情报通信业(月增1.4%)、医疗/福祉业(0.2%)、学术研究/专门技术服务业(0.3%)和复合服务事业(1.1%)。不含公务的其他服务业则呈现持平(月增0.0%)。
