美国劳工部7日公布首次申请失业救济金人数符合预期，经季节性调整后(以下皆同)，初申领人数较前周减少9,000人至336,000人。根据彭博社调查，经济学家预估中间值为335,000人。四周初申领人数移动平均值较前周减少9,250人至357,500人。
截至10月26日为止当周，连续申请失业救济金人数较前一周的修正值增加4,000人至2,868,000人；4周连续申请失业救济金人数移动平均值减少8,500人至2,866,000人；保险失业率持平于2.2%。劳工部周五将公布10月份就业报告。据彭博社调查，经济学家预估非农就业人口将新增12万人，低于前月的14.8万人，失业率则由7.2%上升至7.3%。
