美国政府关门 零售业再受重挫

美国政府停摆，原本就已萎靡不振的零售业再受重创，联邦员工放无薪假，不敢花钱。研调机构ShopperTrak 18日数据显示，和去年同期相比，政府关门期间，零售业购物者流量每周平均下挫7.3%；10月6-12日当周，华府地区的购物者流量更暴跌11.4%！
CNBC报导，华府国家动物园旁的礼物店老板Suprabha Beckjord表示，政府打烊期间，民众趁着好天气出门郊游，但是没什么人想花钱；不少人走进店里只买一两张卡片，原本可能想要的都不买了；还有人在无薪假时整理衣橱、出售旧衣或到二手店寻宝，华府寄售店店主Carmen Lopez指出，店内顾客和销售多了10%。
ShopperTrak表示，政府停工前一周(9月22-28日)，零售业购物者流量年减5%，9月15-21日当周则年减4.7%。该机构创办人Bill Martin认为，国会僵局落幕有望提升消费，但是零售业者可能得花更多时间、并修改策略，才能走出停摆对销售和店内流量的冲击。
美国零售业不景气，知名的梅西百货(Macyˋs Inc.)也挡不住业绩压力，打破155年传统，将破例在11月28日感恩节当天晚上8点开始营业。以往业者会等到感恩节过后一天才开始年终大甩卖，但是玩具反斗城(Toys R Us)两年前首开先例，把营业日提前到感恩节当天，去年零售业者沃尔玛(Walmart)、Target、Sears、Kmart等纷纷仿效，都在感恩节当晚8、9点开门，通宵营业到隔天。梅西不甘生意拱手让人，今年也加入竞争行列。
