週三(5月5日)亞市早盤，美元指數持穩於91.30附近，現貨黃金繼續承壓，現報1777美元/盎司左右。受耶倫加息言論影響，週二紐約時段市場劇烈波動，金價一度自高點大幅回落近30美元，美股大幅下滑，道指一度重挫近350點，“恐慌指數”也飆升。不過，隨後耶倫試圖澄清自己的言論，這推動金價自低點反彈，而美股道指收復所有失地，收盤小幅走高。本交易日投資者將迎來素有“小非農”之稱的美國ADP就業數據，預計將再度引發市場行情。
耶倫言論引發金價大跌
在美國財長耶倫(Janet Yellen)暗示美聯儲可能需要加息以防止經濟過熱後，金價週二大跌。
耶倫承認，為了防止數萬億美元政府刺激帶來經濟過熱，未來可能不得不加息。耶倫曾領導過美聯儲，這也使得她的言論仍然具有相當大的分量。
耶倫在接受《大西洋月刊》採訪時說：“儘管相對於經濟規模而言，額外支出相對較小，但美聯儲可能不得不在一定程度上加息，以確保美國經濟不會過熱。”
巴克萊首席美國經濟學家Michael Gapen表示，鑒於美國政府醞釀的兩個支出方案的巨大規模，長期利率走高不足為奇，不是通過經濟走強就是通過市場加息預期而被推高，符合市場的觀點。
研究主管表示，直到上周，現任美聯儲主席鮑威爾(Jerome Powell)已經“打破了所有的加息預期”。認為，如果美國經濟在5月繼續表現良好的話，耶倫可能是在為6月加息做準備。
耶倫發表講話後，美元擴大漲幅，ICE美元指數收報91.28，上漲0.35%，盤中最高觸及91.39。美元走強會削弱對以美元計價的資產的需求。
金價自日內高點1799.11美元/盎司大幅回落，最低一度觸及1770.56美元/盎司。現貨黃金收報1779.06美元/盎司，下跌13.84美元或0.77%。
首席投資官表示：“哪怕政策計畫中只是出現了一絲加息的暗示，黃金市場也立即扭轉了走勢。儘管已不再是美聯儲的一員，但耶倫仍擁有很大的影響力。”
稱，稍早黃金市場“因美國股市回落及中國大陸和臺灣之間的緊張關係升溫而出現一些避險興趣”，但耶倫講話後，金價的任何積極走勢都消失了。美聯儲加息可能會削弱黃金對投資者的吸引力，這是因為黃金是一種非付息資產。
美聯儲主席鮑威爾週一發表措辭偏鴿派的言論，與上周美聯儲決議後新聞發佈會上的言論形成呼應，這曾經給金價提供上漲動力。
美聯儲主席鮑威爾在週一發表講話，他再度釋放美聯儲不會很快改變寬鬆貨幣政策立場的信號，繼續給近期縮減QE的前景“潑冷水”。
鮑威爾週一表示，經濟滑坡呈現出種族性和收入性差異，復蘇階段的紅利也不均衡。鮑威爾強調，儘管經濟有所回暖，但美國還沒有脫離困境，需政策制定者的持續支持。鮑威爾的表態與上周美聯儲會後決議立場保持一致。
