眾議院議長佩洛西表示，如果副總統彭斯不採取行動，眾議院可能就一項煽動叛亂指控投票彈劾特朗普。投票可能會在本周結束前進行。眾議院少數黨領袖麥卡錫(Kevin McCarthy)的助手未回復置評請求。如果沒有兩黨的共同支持，民主黨要拉特朗普下馬成功的機會渺茫。到目前為止，只有四名共和黨議員公開表示，特朗普不應做完剩下的九天任期。
