美元指數週四繼續走低，盤中一度跌0.56%至89.72，續刷2018年4月以來新低，市場預期將出臺更多的新冠救援措施，以及美聯儲承諾向經濟注入更多資金並維持低利率，導致美元下跌，這提振了金價。
美國國會領導人及其幕僚們繼續敲定一項近9000億美元的新冠救助計畫的細節，以期最早能在週四公佈。白宮一位發言人說，政府對協議即將達成“持樂觀態度”。參議院多數黨領袖麥康奈爾、眾議院議長佩洛西、參議院民主黨領袖舒默和眾議院共和黨領袖Kevin McCarthy直接參與了談判，從而提升了援助法案可以迅速在參議院和眾議院通過的前景。
國會領導人計畫將這項大流行病救助計畫附加到1.4萬億美元的撥款法案上，後者將在截至9月30日的財年為聯邦政府提供運作資金。該法案必須在週五前通過，以避免部分政府停擺，除非國會通過另一項臨時撥款法案。
白宮發言人Williamson表示，總統堅持必須在假期前向工人、家庭和小型企業提供救濟。與國會領導人的對話正在進行中，我們對可以在接下來的24-48小時內達成協議感到樂觀。
特朗普稍早在一條有關疫苗發放的推文中提到了國會的援助談判，稱“刺激政策談判看起來非常好”。
金價上漲的主要原因是美聯儲無視美元走軟、繼續為實行寬鬆貨幣政策亮起綠燈。此外，他認為黃金自身也在積累上漲動力。週三美聯儲宣佈貨幣政策決議後，黃金空頭曾經嘗試阻止其上漲，但被潮水般湧進黃金市場的資金打敗。
