加拿大數據低於預期，經濟恢復相當困難

8月19日，加拿大公佈了7月CPI數據，數據結果大幅低於市場預期，在數據公佈後，美元兌加元小幅上漲，而加拿大6月批發銷售數據則超出是市場預期，但該數據對市場變化的影響較小，沒有被市場所消化。
具體數據顯示，加拿大7月CPI年率(%)實際公佈0.10，預期0.6，前值0.7；加拿大7月核心CPI年率(%)實際公佈1.30，預期1.6，前值1.5。
另外一項加拿大數據，加拿大6月批發銷售月率(%)實際公佈18.50，預期10.5，前值5.7。加拿大6月批發銷售月率突破2003年高點的6.9%，遠超預期，為有記錄以來的最高增速。
分析認為，目前CPI通脹率低迷，而想提高利率，至少需要2.5%-3%的通貨膨脹率。而影響通脹的最大因素是消費者需求，現在需求已經銳減了，所以幾乎沒有經濟學家會認為加拿大的通脹率能恢復到疫情之前的水準。
加拿大央行還確認，將繼續購買債券直到經濟復蘇到較好狀態，預計每週將購買至少50億加元的國債，以進行量化寬鬆。購買債券有利於央行向貸款市場注入流動性，並使抵押貸款利率保持在穩定的水準。
分析指出，雖然央行未來可能提高其對經濟增長和通貨膨脹的預期，但我們的預測和央行目前的預測是一致的。儘管有巨大的經濟刺激措施，但通貨膨脹仍然低迷，導致未來幾年加息的可能性很小。
分析指出，由於公共衛生危機和經濟復蘇之間的關係很複雜，加拿大的低利率水準至少會保持到2022年，加拿大的經濟正在重新重啟，但在秋天是否有第二波疫情誰都說不准。我們應該未雨綢繆，在現在就開始準備，而不是經濟面臨停擺時匆忙應對，以減少經濟損失。
