美国零售数据符合预期，但仍在面临挑战

2月14日，美国公布了市场重点关注的1月份零售销售数据情况，数据结果符合市场基本预期，但是市场认为美国零售业也仍需面临一系列的挑战，金价出现短线上涨。
具体数据显示，美国1月零售销售月率实际公布0.3%，预期0.3%，前值0.3%；美国1月核心零售销售月率实际公布0.3%，预期0.3%，前值0.7%。
美国1月消费者支出似乎进一步放缓，其中服装店销售额跌幅创2009年以来最大，或引发经济能否持续温和扩张的担忧。不过1月整体零售额增长了0.3%，汽车销量继去年12月下滑1.7%后反弹0.2%。建筑材料商店销售额增长2.1%，为去年8月以来最大增幅，销售或受到反常的温和天气推动。
美国零售业仍然面临挑战。美国著名的百货公司，梅西百货宣布在2020年裁掉2000人，而且要关闭一些大型商场，将重心放在街边的小购物店上。
不过，在本周的国会作证中，鲍威尔表示，劳动力市场保持强劲，通胀将会回到美联储设定的2%目标水平。鲍威尔的证词也指出，美国经济仍有表现不佳的领域，包括财富和收入不平等，以及劳动力参与率在上升的同时低于许多其他发达经济体。
亚洲公共卫生安全事件不会对全球零售市场带来太大影响。近日来，除中国外，日本、新加坡等亚洲国家也相继出现了确诊病例。在这个往年的春节和情人节消费季，分析师认为，零售市场不会受到太大影响。
分析认为，虽然在日本或新加坡等国出现了一定数量的病例，但从整体人口来看比例仍然非常低。其实国外大多数的国家没有恐慌。哪怕是在新加坡，也还是会有一些群聚活动照常进行。
市场总是以这种或那种方式过度反应，但是消费者现在这种反应并非出于荒谬的原因。任何传言的风声，比如关于疫苗的进展，或者某一天新增病例数下降了，市场都会出现过度反应。
其他美国数据表现基本符合预期。除了零售外的其他美国数据显示，美国1月进口物价指数月率实际公布0%，预期-0.2%，前值0.3%；美国1月进口物价指数年率实际公布0.3%，预期0.2%，前值0.5%。
