短期內難以建立貿易協定，硬脫歐預期增加

11月18日，英鎊兌其他貨幣全數下跌，因為市場對英國出現無協議脫歐的擔憂再度增加，市場出現拋售英鎊行為，同時英國首相詹森打算將英國脫歐的最後期限定在2020年的12月。
分析師表示，詹森的計畫，在不到一年的時間內，英國和歐盟達成報以協議的計畫，大部分的交易員都認為不可能。因為詹森的強硬態度，讓英國無協議脫歐風險上升，英鎊持續下跌。對於英鎊兌美元來說，1.30是一個重要的轉捩點。
不過交易員也正準備迎接更多的動盪，因為詹森準備最早在本週五讓議會對他的英國脫歐協議進行投票。詹森希望兌現他在大選時做出的承諾，在明年12月31日維持現狀的過渡時期結束之前，與歐盟敲定一項新的自由貿易協定。
儘管歐盟從未在如此短的時間內完成任何貿易談判，但英國官員似乎相信，12月的最後期限將迫使歐盟與其的談判能達成快速貿易協議。就歐盟官員而言，他們認為這是不可能的。

分析師表示，英鎊近日的下跌是對選舉後狂熱上漲的修正，因為現實情況已經表明，整個脫歐鬧劇並沒有結束。脫歐問題回歸議程的速度比預期要快；儘管現在評估硬脫歐重新出現的風險為時過早，但有一個事實是，詹森錯過了10月31日這個“無論如何的”脫歐截止期限，暗示2020年12月的過渡期截止期限也可能延後。
