11月5日，现货黄金持续下跌，由于中美即将达成贸易协议，带来的乐观情绪上升，同时美联储表达了暂缓降息的倾向。美国企业对信贷条件宽松预期持谨慎离场，美元指数创下进四个交易日的高点。

9月份的市场调查结果显示，只有1%的企业主预期，信贷条件会变得更为宽松。在位列十大最为关注的业务问题列表中，招募合格员工高居榜首，信贷成本和融资条件紧随其后，而通胀率仅位列第9位。
美联储周一发布的最新调查显示，出于对经济前景更加不确定的担忧，银行正在紧缩第三季度的信用卡贷款标准。不利的经济环境和更加不确定的经济状况是降低发放新贷款意愿的原因之一。
在过去的三个季度中，银行提高了批准信用卡申请的承保标准。穆迪投资者服务公司的一份报告显示，信用卡标准收紧创下2009年以来最高。
美国金融机构在放松贷款条件方面总体持谨慎态度，否则将会令个人和企业质疑，其投资能否获得合理可观的回报。较低的借贷成本通常不会在经济前景不佳的情况下触发市场对增加支出予以积极响应。
