分析師表示，“由於週一出現兩大國和解的基調，因此金價維持穩定，最近市場焦點是貿易問題，市場一直在貿易問題上尋找交易的機會。不過，全球央行放鬆貨幣政策以及減少經濟放緩的希望為黃金提供了一些支撐。”

分析師表示，貿易局勢的不確定性令投資者感到擔憂，推動資金流入避險金屬，導致貴金屬價格上漲。此外，數據顯示，第二季度德國經濟因出口疲軟而收縮，這增加了全球經濟健康狀況的不確定性。
此外週二一項針對經濟學家的調查顯示，印度二季度經濟擴張速度可能創下五年多以來新低，主要因為投資增長疲軟和需求低迷。
各國政府似乎並沒有意識到危機即將到來。歐洲因制度僵局、政治混亂以及德國不願意承認自身經濟問題嚴重性而陷入癱瘓。英國政府堅持認為只要英國成功脫歐，一切都會好起來。在美國，特朗普總統拒絕承認目前的經濟放緩與他的貿易政策有任何關係。
國際貨幣基金組織已經建議各個國家採取謹慎的行動方案，但它們大多被忽視了。幾個月前，經合組織（OECD）提出了一項國際協調財政刺激計畫的想法，該計畫將提前準備好，以便在必要時使用，但全世界各國政府對此保持沉默。
