中东局势无进一步变化，金价平淡收场
金价于4月16日基本持平，虽然一度受到美元走弱提振而录得上涨，但由于金融市场押注对叙利亚的空袭不会升级为更大范围的军事冲突，金价涨势受限并最终回落。
周六(4月14日)美国、英国和法国对叙利亚展开精准打击，据称摧毁了叙利亚三处主要化学武器设施。不过，金价于周一开盘后却意外录得下跌，主要由于市场预计这一军事行动并非意味着美国与俄罗斯间的冲突将进一步升级。
分析师表示，金价对美国所展开的军事行动几乎没有什么反应。主要由于美国主导的针对叙利亚的军事打击行动是一次性行动，没有进一步的袭击计划。
分析师表示，在空袭后，部分不确定性风险已经得到释放。此前，一些市场参担忧的是叙利亚局势可能会由于美国展开军事行动而进一步恶化，但这种情况并未发生，因此金价第一反应为下跌。
策略师则表示，叙利亚和贸易战紧张局势以及美元指数下跌都是金价继续上涨的理由。令人失望的是，金价似乎上攻发力，可能是由于周一美股上涨限制了其上涨空间。
不过，分析师表示，黄金避险需求可能在交易所交易基金(ETF)流动中出现。德国商业银行的研究团队指出，黄金ETF上周的资金流入为16.6吨，自本月初以来已达到36吨。这一数字几乎是整个3月份的两倍。
相比之下，在最近一周，投机性金融投资者的净多头仓位或多或少保持不变。Fritsch表示，投资者购买兴趣正慢慢增加，以应对地缘政治风险带来的不确定性。
而美国商品期货交易委员会(CFTC)周五(4月13日)公布的数据显示，截至4月10日当周，投机客将COMEX黄金合约的净多头仓位增加至138212个。
