若数据一如预期 可能在11月加息
美国克里夫兰联储主席梅斯特周一(10月3日)在接受采访时称，美联储不应该延迟升息，如果数据一如预期，在11月升息的理由仍十分强劲。
美联储今年9月21日的政策会议曾维持利率不变，而梅斯特则是该次会议持有异议，并支持加息的三位决策者之一。
梅斯特表示，她认为9月份加息以确保可持续经济扩张的理由很强，并且就加息而言“所有会议都有可能”，包括11月份的会议。
她强调，“美联储是非政治化的，并且必须有点先发制人。如果数据符合预期，我认为11月加息的理由将继续令人信服。”
同时，梅斯特预计，“美国下半年经济应该会反弹，未来两年的经济增速几乎不会高于趋势水平，应该会推动失业率进一步下降。通货膨胀应该会逐渐上行达到2%。”
他补充道，“当前美国经济没有过热，而且我不认为我们落后于形势。但如果美联储推迟加息，则央行未来有更大可能要以更陡速度加息。”
此外，梅斯特指出，欧洲银行业的问题是美联储应该关注的一个风险，但她认为，美联储加息25个基点不会影响意大利银行业或德国银行业的状况。
