美国3月非农好于预期，有“美联储通讯社”之称的《华尔街日报》记者Jon Hilsenrath表示，美联储将在今年晚些时候逐步加息。他表示，这份报告不至于强劲到让美联储在本月的会议上加息，但6月加息是有可能的。
美国3月非农就业新增就业21.5万人，小幅好于预期，但失业率有所攀升。
美国劳工部4月1日公布的数据显示，美国3月非农就业新增21.5万人，略好于预期的20.5万人，前值从24.2万向上修正为24.5万人；3月失业率升至5%，为2015年5月以来的首次增长，高于预期和前值的4.9%。
Hilsenrath指出，劳动参与率的上升意味着劳动者对工作前景感到乐观。这给了美联储一定的政策空间。而失业率也不至于低到让工资和通胀增长过热的程度。
市场关注的小时薪资数据略有增加：美国3月平均每小时工资环比增长0.3%，预期增长0.2%，前值为下滑0.1%；平均每小时工资同比增长2.3%，预期2.2%，前值从2.2%修正为2.3%；平均每周工时34.4小时，预期34.5小时，前值34.4小时。
Hilsenrath表示，这强化了耶伦的观点——美国的工资压力还不明显。这支持了她逐步加息的观点。
本周三。美联储主席耶伦在纽约经济俱乐部发表讲话。耶伦表示，全球经济存在风险，美国经济数据喜忧参半，美联储加息应谨慎。耶伦讲话后，美股急速上涨。
华尔街见闻此前提到，耶伦表示，受中国经济增速放缓和油价暴跌影响，全球经济和金融市场的不确定性增加，这令美国经济面临的风险增加，因此美联储应更缓慢地进行加息。当前联邦基金利率处于低位，在面临经济冲击时，美联储运用常规货币政策的能力是不对称的。
两周前，FOMC 3月利率决议后的新闻发布会上，耶伦强调加息节奏将是缓慢的，同时美联储官员将今年的加息预期从4次削减到2次。但上周，美联储四位官员纷纷发表鹰派观点，公开支持4月加息。这种反转来的太快，让加息前景再度扑朔迷离。
