美联储主席耶伦在隔夜圣路易斯出席会议时再度对美国经济转好表达信心，她声称，“近年来（美国）经济已经出现重大改善。”
此番言论与其上周五（9月25日）的讲话相呼应。此前耶伦表示，只要通胀稳定，且经济增长足以提振就业，美联储倾向在年内升息。
三菱日联策略师John Herrmann预计，美联储的升息步伐会非常非常“循序渐进”。预计2016-2018的3年中，最多每年升息2次，每次25个基点。
由于目前新兴市场经济不稳定性，以及美国ISM制造业数据表现不佳，市场对美联储年内是否升息的预期出现动摇。目前12月升息的预期为63%。而本周即将公布的9月ISM和非农报告，将会进一步左右该预期。
波士顿联储发表的研究报告显示，美联储在执行货币政策时，会受到金融市场不稳定性的影响。
