中国外汇交易中心本日(8月12日)显示，在岸和离岸人民币汇率继续走低，尾盘在岸人民币出现逾600点的拉升，疑似中国官方再度出售干预，以对抗离岸汇价卖盘。
中国央行今日再度大幅调降人民币中间价，知情人士称央行今日干预人民币兑美元汇率。
据彭博社援引不愿具名知情人士称，中国外汇管理局12日下发通知，要求部分银行对境内购汇量较大的客户进行限制，并加强相关业务监测。在岸人民币午后跌幅扩大后迅速收窄，新华社评论称人民币贬值不会引发货币战争。
亚洲外汇交易员指出，美元/离岸人民币出现了来自欧洲多家银行的新一波买单。交易员称在一家大型外汇银行，美元/离岸人民币在亚洲时段的成交量占今天整体外汇交易量的25%左右。
截至收盘，在岸人民币兑美元收盘下跌0.96%，报6.3858。日内在岸人民币一度跌1.9%，后收盘前快速反弹。自中国央行连续两日大幅调低中间价以来，在岸即期汇价共跌2.85%。
本日离岸人民币跌1283点，跌幅2.01%，现报6.5161，盘中一度跌逾2000点。
中国央行将人民币对美元汇率中间价调降1008点，为2012年10月11日以来新低，报6.3306元。
中国央行本日早些时候发布公告称，当前不存在人民币汇率持续贬值的基础，上述消息给该汇率带来一定支撑。其中一位人士称，央行在1美元兑6.4300元人民币附近位置进行了干预。
