考虑到就业市场持续强劲、股票价格处于纪录高位，且能源成本逐渐企稳，美国的家庭对其财务状况越来越有信心。由于就业增长的同时，薪资水平加速，美国消费支出料将得到有一个力撑。昨天的一份报告就显示，美国5月消费支出单月升幅创下2009年中期以来之最。
密歇根大学消费者调查报告主管Richard Curtin称，消费支出将成为经济的驱动力，在今年的前六个月里，美国的消费者对其当前财务水平，以及未来的财务前景充满信心。如果换算成指数的话，该信心指数则创下2007年以来最高。
密歇根大学还在今天的声明中称，美国6月消费者信心指数创下2007年1月以来第二高；6月消费者信心指数与5月的差值达到5.4个点，创下2013年12月以来最高。
今天还同时公布了1年期和5-10年期通胀预期。其中，1年期通胀预期为2.7%。5-10年期通胀预期为2.6%。
密歇根消费者信心中的通胀预期，是美联储高度关注的基于调查的通胀数据。
其同时指出，消费者信心指数一直以来被作为经济学家观测国家经济支柱——消费支出所锚定的指标，因此本次数据表现良好反映出，消费支出在疲弱的第一季度后已转强。
