据路透社报道，希腊推迟偿还周五到期的一笔国际货币基金组织(IMF)款项。总理齐普拉斯面对左翼支持者的愤怒，要求更改国际债权人为提供援助而设定的苛刻条件。
IMF表示，雅典计划把6月应该分批支付的四笔款项合成总计为16亿欧元的一笔，在6月30日偿还。
这是五年危机以来，希腊首次推迟偿还一笔救助款项，尽管齐普拉斯本周稍早还表示希腊有钱，将偿还这笔贷款。欧元区各国政府和IMF在危机期间向希腊提供了2,400亿欧元金援。
德国总理默克尔表示，改革换现金协议的谈判距离达成协议仍然很远。
据希腊政府官员表示，齐普拉斯、默克尔与法国总统奥朗德(Francois Hollande)周四夜晚进行了电话会议，努力加速弭平剩余歧见。
齐普拉斯在布鲁塞尔与欧盟官员夜晚的会谈后返国，料将面临自身的左翼激进联盟党(Syriza)对相关条件可能逾越“红线”的抗议声浪。齐普拉斯以承诺结束撙节在1月的大选中胜出。
一名希腊官员表示，齐普拉斯对部长们表示，政府不会接受“极端提案”，并称债权人应了解希腊民众承受的苦痛业已足够，他们“必须停止操弄这样的游戏。”
“他们并没有任何退让，即便这四个月来双方就希腊提出的改革方案日益趋同，”一位匿名的希腊政府官员表示，“他们的立场令人质疑他们是否就达成互惠解决方案做出了贡献。”
