国际货币基金组织（IMF）总裁拉加德（Christine Lagarde）周四（4月9日）在被问及是否认为美元过强时称，“我不会说过强，因为货币币值会随着自身经济的强弱调整，现在它告诉我们的就是美国经济的表现好极了，或者说，比其它国家好。”
拉加德在接受CNBC采访时说，各国央行应防范资产泡沫。
拉加德3月份时曾表示，新兴市场必须为美国利率上升的影响做好准备，而美国加息的时机和步伐都可能出人意料。她指出，2013年曾打击新兴市场的所谓的“退出恐慌”可能再度上演。当时前任美联储主席伯南克提到形势或促使美联储降低每月850亿美元的购债规模时，投资者感到惊慌，“危险在于，当宽松政策反转时，在货币政策非常宽松的时期积累的那些不稳定性会突然下降，从而造成市场大幅波动。我们在退出恐慌时期已经尝到了那种滋味，我担心这可能不会是一次性事件。”
