美聯儲利率決議來襲：淩晨02:00，美聯儲將公佈利率決議，美聯儲發佈政策聲明後主席鮑威爾將召開新聞發佈會。市場廣泛預計美聯儲9月降息25個基點，焦點將轉向美聯儲主席鮑威爾使用的語言，預計圍繞“貿易不確定性”的言論將得到廣泛傳播。
英國脫歐進入最終階段：9月17-19日，英國最高法院開審首相鮑裏斯·詹森關閉議會案。19日，11名法官將裁定其讓英國議會休會的決定是否違法。在他上周暫停議會之前，議員們通過了一項法律，迫使首相在10月19日前沒有達成協議的情況下要求延長英國退歐。
