國際現貨黃金截止至2019年8月8日1:00報1505.0美元/盎司，早間亞盤最高價為1509.9美元/盎司，金價美盤時段進一步爆發，並且成功突破1500關口。現貨白銀報17.08美元/盎司，白銀大幅上升成功破掉17。
貿易摩擦助漲金價：市場關注的兩大經濟體的局勢沒有出現降溫的跡，投資者尋求避險，債券、黃金、日元等品種受到青睞，而股市則遭到拋售。貿易局勢持續支撐金價。美國政府近日宣稱的、擬對3000億美元中國輸美商品加征10%關稅，美方一些人士擔心，此番對華升級經貿摩擦，在傷害中美農產品貿易的同時，也將嚴重打擊美國農民的利益。
美聯儲降息預期升溫：紐約時段盤中，特朗普再度發表強硬言論，敦促美聯儲降息。特朗普稱，美聯儲必須更大幅、更快下調利率。不過，美聯儲官員並不認同特朗普大幅度降息的觀點。聖路易斯聯儲主席布拉德不要指望每次國際政策威脅或聲明令市場陷入混亂時都會有更多的降息。
