美元創出新高 黃金應聲暴跌
國際現貨黃金截止至2018年8月16日8:00報1170美元/盎司，在美元指數創出年內新高後，金價跌勢一發不可收拾，連續跌破1180美元/盎司以及1170美元/盎司的支撐，最終在低點1160.3美元/盎司站穩後快速反彈。
美元強勁拉升：美元指數沖高回落，盤中一度逼近97關口漲至96.99，創2017年6月27日以來新高。市場認為當前美元指數正接近臨界點，指標顯示出目前美國經濟雖然強勁，但是市場開始降低對美國經濟的預期值。
美國經濟數據向好：繼中國、歐盟、俄羅斯及印度後，土耳其宣佈對部分自美國進口產品徵收高額的報復性關稅，美土緊張局勢再度升級。但美國經濟數據持續向好，美國7月零售銷售月率上漲0.5%，遠超預期的上漲0.1%，此外7月零售銷售錄得連續5個月增長，美國7月核心零售銷售數據錄得連續6個月增長，均支撐美元。
