美国劳工部3月6日公布，经季节调整后，截至3月1日为止当周，首次申请失业救济金人数较前周修正值减少26,000人至323,000人，创下3个月新低。根据路透社的调查，经济学家的预估值为33.8万人。上周首次申请失业救济金人数的4周移动平均值较前周修正值减少2,000人至336,500人。
截至2月22日为止当周，经季节调整后，连续申请失业救济金人数较前一周的修正值减少8,000人至2,907,000人，为去年12月以来的新低。当周连续申请失业救济金人数的4周移动平均值较前一周的修正值减少14,750人至2,927,750人。截至2月22日为止当周，经过季节性因素调整后的保险失业率较前周修正值持平为2.2%。
根据路透社的调查，经济学家预期周五（3月7日）将公布的二月份非农就业人口将增加15万人，此前两个月受到严寒天气的影响，一月以及去年12月的非农就业分别仅增加11.3万人与7.5万人。
