美国12月因收出口下滑影响，贸易赤字扩大超出预期，商务部6日公布数据显示，12月份贸易逆差月增12%至387亿美元，高于路透社调查预估的360亿美元。
报告指出，出口额月减1.8%至1,913亿美元、进口却月增0.3%至2,300亿美元。据路透社报导，贸易对美国第四季GDP成长率贡献度达1.33个百分点，出口下滑恐使当季GDP成长率跟着下修。
在另一方面，尽管整体出口表现下滑，但值得一提的是，当月石油出口依旧创下历史新高，显示美国页岩油产出持续成长。
在对各国表现上，贸易收支呈现顺差的国家有，香港(33亿美元)、澳洲(16亿美元)、巴西(15亿美元)、新加坡(12亿美元)。
出现逆差的国家有，中国大陆(当月是245亿美元，前月是269美元）、欧盟国家(当月是113亿美元，前月是101亿美元）、日本(60亿美元)、德国(59亿美元)、墨西哥(42亿美元)、OPEC国家(40亿美元)、沙特阿拉伯(28亿美元)、爱尔兰(18亿美元)、委内瑞拉(16亿美元)、印度(15亿美元)、南韩(8亿美元)。
