“恐怖数据”发威，金价暴跌逾2%
周五（9月17日）亚洲时段，现货黄金持稳于1754附近。周四（9月16日）金价暴跌逾2%，强劲的美国零售销售数据提振了美元，并为押注美联储可能加快缩减购债的看法增添理据，但债务上限之争可能影响美联储抉择。
美国8月零售销售意外增长
美国8月零售销售意外增长，因许多类别的销售增加足以抵消汽车需求疲软的影响。
商务部周四公布的数据显示，8月份零售销售上升0.7%，7月份下修后为下降1.8％。不包括汽车的零售销售8月份增长1.8％，为五个月来最大增幅。
调查经济学家预期8月整体零售销售下滑0.7％，预测值介于下滑3.3％至增长1.1％之间。
数据公布后，美国股指期货缩小跌幅，债券则下跌。
零售销售出人意料改善，部分得益于返校购物和数以百万计有子女家庭获得的资金补助，也表明商品需求的坚韧。该报告显示无店铺零售商、杂货店和家具店收入更强。
德尔塔毒株正在抑制对旅游和休闲等服务业的需求。数据显示，8月份餐饮和酒吧的收入停滞不前。
美元指数触及近三周最高
美元指数周四上涨，触及近三周最高，此前公布的数据显示，美国8月零售销售意外增加，部分缓解了对经济增长大幅放缓的担忧。
加拿大帝国商业银行资本市场北美外汇策略主管Bipan Rai表示，“如果你看看零售销售数据，即使有所修正，也相当利多，因此，我们看到美元从中受益，特别是兑欧元、瑞郎和日元等融资货币。”
他表示：“感觉就像是所有对基础经济挥之不去的担忧……都有所减弱。因此，当我们把目光投向下周的美联储会议时，证据支持了这样一种想法，即届时美联储将在会上发出缩减信号。”
