10月23日，現貨黃金出現較大跌幅，刷新至一周新低點，由於美元收復部分師弟，加上美國經濟刺激發感談判陷入僵局，但目前美國大選的不確定性限制了金價的跌幅，目前仍需更多消息面指引。
COMEX 12月黃金期貨收漲0.03%，報1905.20美元/盎司，本周累跌不到0.1%。滿地可銀行基本和貴金屬衍生品交易主管Tai Wong表示，目前黃金的走勢確實反映了美元走勢。金價目前處於每盎司1890-1930美元的“停滯不前”區間內，每次觸底都會被推高。
美國眾議院議長佩洛西和財政部長姆努欽週五相互指責對方應出力推動談判向前推進，大選前通過刺激法案的可能性正在迅速消退。
佩洛西表示，特朗普應該推動磋商，並讓共和黨人點頭同意與白宮達成的關於近2萬億美元一攬子援助計畫的任何協定；她接受採訪時說：“如果總統願意配合，我們或許可以在選舉前做到這一點”。
白宮談判代表姆努欽稱，談判取得了重大進展，但他指責佩洛西不肯在民主黨優先事項上做出妥協，導致磋商停滯；姆努欽對記者說：“我們提供了讓步。但佩洛西在許多問題上堅持己見；如果她想妥協，那就可以達成協議”。
特朗普週五再次嘲笑佩洛西對於向州和地方政府提供援助的堅持，並指責她想推遲刺激計畫，直到11月3日選舉之後。
美國國家經濟顧問庫德洛表示，刺激計畫的談判目前進展不是很快，要完成談判是困難的。我們不能跨越政策分歧的最後障礙。援助協議在美國大選前很難達成。
金價仍鎖定在區間內，因經濟刺激消息和美國選舉的不確定性打壓金價。在所有人的目光仍盯著美國大選的情況下，黃金投資者無需太過期待新的財政刺激措施，這將令貴金屬穩固的偏向上行。
