制藥商阿斯利康恢復了其新冠疫苗在英國的臨床試驗，這是研發進展最快的候選疫苗之一。此外輝瑞和德國生物技術公司BioNTech SE提議將其新冠疫苗第三階段關鍵試驗規模擴大到約4.4萬名參與者。
雖然英國政府通過了有爭議的法案，旨在推翻與歐盟的脫歐協議的部分內容，但圍繞英鎊的情緒還是轉為積極，議員們將於週二開始對該法案進行詳細審查。考慮到歐盟已威脅將對英國違反脫歐協議採取法律行動，這一最新進展加劇了市場對英國無協議脫歐日益加劇的擔憂。
詹森說，“我理解一些人對使用這些權力會感到不安，我本人也有同樣的感受；這是一種保護措施，如果我們和歐洲朋友達成協議，我仍然相信這是可能的，這些條款將永遠不會被動用”。但一些歐盟外交官認為，倫敦正在進行一場膽小鬼博弈，通過威脅讓貿易談判破裂，獲得英國想要的協議，否則就在沒有達成協議的情況下脫歐。
高盛預計英國脫歐阻力重重，由於脫歐協商出現新的危機，無協議脫歐的預期恐推動歐元兌英鎊將漲至平價，目前市場認為英國無協議脫歐的概率在40%-45%，如果是按照“協議”的基本情況交易，歐元兌英鎊將跌至0.87。
9月底之前英鎊可能非常不穩定，歐盟正等待英國是否會撤回《內部市場法案》，英鎊兌美元三個月目標為1.27，六至十二個月目標為1.33。脫歐正重新成為英鎊的主要推動因素，備受爭議的新《內部市場法案》再次引發人們對無協議脫歐的擔憂，英鎊開始下跌，同時英國在經濟復蘇方面已經落後於其他國家。貨幣政策方面，11月英國貨幣政策委員料降息至零，並增加500億英鎊的量化寬鬆規模。
