美聯儲維持穩定，金價出現明顯回升

美聯儲在政策聲明中對於未來政策前景的描述顯示，美聯儲將維持利率在當前水準，直到美聯儲確信經濟已經度過了最近的危機，並走上實現最大就業和價格穩定目標的軌道。美聯儲承諾使用所有工具以支撐美國經濟，準備好適時調整市場操作計畫，將繼續進行大規模的隔夜和定期回購操作。
美國5月就業報告交出新增250萬個崗位的意外之喜，企業開始重新聘雇員工的速度之快，也讓經濟分析師感到驚訝。雖然這鼓舞了一些樂觀情緒，但美聯儲官員異口同聲表示，經濟統計資料的重要性暫時比不上疫情危機的進展。決策官員一致認為，在確定第二波疫情不會迫使民眾再度無法出行之前，風險將持續偏高。
美聯儲已向金融市場提供數萬億美元的廣泛支援，就像2007年至2009年金融危機和衰退時期所做的那樣。但這一次它走得更遠，與美國財政部在購買公司債和市政債、以及向“實體”經濟中的中小型企業提供貸款等計畫上面進行了合作。
鮑威爾可能會重複危機初期以來的標準承諾，即保持利率接近於零並提供一切所需支持，直到經濟“步入正軌”向著實現美聯儲的充分就業和通脹目標方向前進。
美國銀行預計，今年年底美聯儲資產負債表占GDP的比例將達到40%，德意志銀行認為，美聯儲資產負債表的最大規模“取決於他們購買什麼”，並暗示如果美聯儲放開購買所有資產，資產負債表可能達到130萬億美元。
鮑威爾此前還強調，目前很明顯存在第二波疫情的風險，這可能會嚴重損害信心。流失的崗位可能需要一段時間才能恢復，美聯儲必須對支持就業保持緊密關注。
