5月20日，现货黄金持续走高，由于大量经济刺激措施的实施以及病毒疫苗还存在不确定性，对金价构成了一定的支撑，同时美联储会议纪要表示致力于使用所有工具支撑经济发展，不过市场对经济复苏的期望增强，风险偏好改善，金价涨幅有限。
分析师称，对黄金等避险资产需求下降，黄金继续缓慢上升的事实充分说明，它的潜在动能来自于央行和经济全线注入流动性的想法。不过，全球股市普遍上涨、对各经济体陆续重启的预期变得更加乐观、消费者需求料将逐步恢复，这些因素则令金价的上涨动力受到限制。
美联储最新会议记录亦支撑金价，委员们一致认为，他们“将致力于全面使用其工具，并采取适当行动来支持美国经济”，新冠疫情使经济面临“非同寻常”的不确定性，中期存在异常不确定性和重大风险。
按照IMF目前对2020年G-10国家政府债务和预算赤字的估计，黄金价格被低估了，应该在1975美元。
数据显示，白银支持交易所交易基金（ETF）的资产周一和周二增加超过1850万盎司，持仓延续创纪录水平，并有望创3月份以来的最大单周增幅。分析师在一份报告中称“目前的关注点更多地放在白银与黄金的相关性上，因此其有补涨潜力”。
