美國GDP不及預期，黃金反而下行

10月30日，美國公佈的三季度GDP增長放緩，低於市場預期，因商業投資下滑被彈性消費支出和出口反彈所抵消，進一步減少了市場對經濟衰退的擔憂，金價也因此而出現了一定的下行。
然而，美國商務部週三發佈的報告不太可能阻止美聯儲再次降息。貿易政策的不確定性、全球經濟增長放緩以及英國脫歐，對美聯儲有史以來持續時間最長的經濟擴張構成了揮之不去的威脅。
GDP數據出爐幾小時後，美聯儲將公佈利率決議。美聯儲週三料進行年內第三次調降聯邦基金利率25個基點，區間將下移至1.5%-1.75%。美聯儲此前分別在7月和9月降息。
美國經濟受到了特朗普政府與中國之間15個月貿易摩擦的衝擊，貿易摩擦重擊了消費者和企業的信心。去年1.5萬億美元減稅計畫的刺激效應在逐漸消退，加之海外增長逐漸減弱，均對美國有史以來最長的經濟擴張週期(已經持續11年)帶來侵蝕。
分析師認為，美國9月貿易逆差收窄掩蓋了潛在的經濟疲態，那可能只是因為進口關稅和全球增長走軟抑制了商品流動。分析師稱全球增長放緩的程度已在暗示國內活動將進一步減速。
儘管失業率處於近50年以來最低水準，且提振了支出，但在9月零售銷售出現七個月以來首次下滑之後。消費占美國經濟活動的比重超過三分之二。
除貿易緊張形勢對企業投資構成壓力外，油價下跌也削弱了油氣鑽探方面的支出。庫存增長放慢也是製造業生產低迷的因素之一。
美國經濟並未像今年稍早金融市場擔心的那樣陷入衰退，但消費者支出放緩和企業投資下滑，這可能促使美聯儲再次降息以維持經濟擴張步伐。
美國總統特朗普週二(10月29日)對美聯儲發起新一輪攻擊，稱美聯儲需要效仿其他央行實施負利率的做法。他在推特上表示：“美聯儲一點頭緒都沒有！我們有無限的潛力，只是被美聯儲抑制了。”
雖然美國總統特朗普推遲了原本10月生效的額外關稅，但經濟分析師指出，如不撤回所有加征的關稅，經濟增長依然堪憂。
