6月4日，现货黄金创新三个月高位后有所回落，因为美元随着美债收益率而反弹，但市场对美联储近期降息的预期持续升温，美国多个领域卷入贸易摩擦，市场避险情绪高涨，并引发对全球经济衰退的担忧，金价涨势预计还会持续一段时间。
指标10年期美债收益率隔夜跌至2017年9月来最低水准的2.059%。公债收益率下跌表明投资人对于未来将发生什么怀有疑虑。美国第二季的经济增长预测已经调降至远低于2%的水平。
墨西哥周一表示，在本周与特朗普政府的会谈中，如果美方提出让其接收所有寻求美国庇护的中美洲移民的想法，该国将予以拒绝。
美国政府之前威胁，如果墨西哥不打击非法移民，将从6月10日起对所有墨西哥输美商品征收关税。这一威胁上周给本已因全球贸易紧张对峙而走势挣扎的全球市场又一重击。
严重依赖对美出口的墨西哥经济今年首季出现萎缩，并将因美国关税而进一步受创。根据特朗普的计划，关税税率最初为5%，之后可能逐步上调，最高达25%。
美国总统特朗普意外宣布对墨西哥商品加征进口关税，不仅可能重创投资和企业信心，也表明美国政府主战立场将保持下去。美联储迟迟不愿就全球贸易紧张局面做出回应的犹豫态度，可能已随着这个新发展受到彻底打击。
美国圣路易斯联储主席布拉德周一表示，鉴于全球贸易紧张局势以及美国通胀疲弱对经济增长构成的风险不断上升，美国可能很快就需要降息。
美联储的回应不会立即到来，鲜有分析师预计美联储会在6月18-19日的下次会议上降息。美联储将在6月份会议上再次考虑利率政策，并发布最新的经济预测。
美联储理事布雷纳德最近发表评论称，如果贸易政策导致物价出现投机性的上涨，有可能令美联储更接近或高于其2%通胀目标，并让联储能够释出其将容忍物价更快速上涨的信号。
但特朗普政策反反覆覆的环境，让美联储一直难以解读。去年的减税举措以及政府赤字增加，带动经济增长强于预期，美联储在一段时间内也维持更加积极的升息步伐。
目标利率区间仍维持于相对较低的2.25-2.5%，而美联储目前可能不得不将降息“弹药”用来抗击贸易摩擦的影响。美联储即将于6月召开的会议，将是对贸易摩擦加剧如何影响美联储内部意见的首次检测。
