亲欧政党为议会多数，提振英镑，但脱欧僵局仍在

5月27日，虽然亲欧政党有所分裂，但仍占有欧洲议会多数席位，受此消息影响，英镑短线上涨，不过英国无协议脱欧的风险上升，目前英镑仍不被看好，看空呼声较高。
5月27日公布的欧洲议会选举官方初步结果显示，承诺强化欧盟的政党获得欧洲议会三分之二的席位，尽管极右翼和民族主义政党的席位大幅增加。
法国总统马克龙个人遭受打击，他赌上自己的总统宝座，竭力劝说欧洲人相信欧盟是应对世界经济不确定及全球化挑战的解决之道。马克龙团队的一位官员承认投票结果“略令人失望”，出口民调显示，马克龙率领的“前进运动党”仅以22%得票率位居第二，落后于勒庞所属政党“国民阵线”的24%。位居第三的政党是绿党，亲欧政党仍占据多数。
但马克龙的欧洲复兴计划在欧盟范围内增强了自由党派的力量。欧洲议会公布的初步结果显示，由于绿党席位跳升，这意味着占据亲欧盟中间力量的四个党团失去不到20个席位，在751个席位中获得505席。
在此次议会竞选中，投票率从2014年的43%上升到51%，欧盟官员对感到高兴。这是自1979年欧盟首次直接投票以来，投票率下滑的趋势第一次出现逆转。此次20年来最高的投票率，或可消除外界对“民主赤字”破坏欧盟立法机构权威的议论。
德国总理默克尔保守阵营支持率比五年前下滑了七个百分点，极右翼的德国“新选择党”支持率上升4个百分点至11%。但在德国占据头条新闻的是绿党，该党支持率几乎倍增至21%而位居第二，仅次于社民党。
欧洲议会预测人民党料赢得179席，领先社民党的152席；自由党料增加36席至105席，绿党则料增加17席至69席。极右政党方面，目前欧洲议会中的两大政党料总计拿下111席，比2014年增加40%。
英镑兑美元27日一度微幅涨至1.2753高点，此前在英国首相特雷莎·梅宣布下台时间表后已收复一些失地，自四个半月低点1.2606出现反弹。但是，“无协议脱欧”的前景很快成为特雷莎·梅潜在继任者的主要挑战，八位候选人中已有四位表示，英国必须在10月31日离开欧盟，即便这意味着英国或无协议脱欧。
